Lead Service Line Inventory

Five types of pipes: lead, copper, brass, plastic, galvanized steel.

Under the EPA regulation titled Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR), all community water systems are required to submit an inventory of all service lines in their systems, identifying any service lines that are made of lead. A service lateral is the smaller pipe that runs from the water main in the street to the customer.

Sunnyslope completed this inventory and confirmed that there are NO lead services anywhere within our water system. The full service line inventory can be accessed in the link below:

Approximately 1/3rd of Sunnyslope's customers have copper service laterals and some customer's older plumbing fixtures might have small amounts of lead. To prevent that lead or copper from leaching into the water, Sunnyslope ensures that the water pH is above 7. This allows for a thin layer of scale to build up inside the pipe as a barrier between the water and plumbing fixtures.

Sunnyslope also conducts regular lead and copper testing in customers homes throughout the water system. The results of those tests are listed in the annual Consumer Confidence Report.
